When I do a smoothie cleanse (see the info on smoothie cleanses here)– I supplement my smoothies with veggies and fruits throughout the day. I never let myself get really hungry because then I just want to eat everything in the fridge and the cupboards! Yikes! 
I also carry fruit (banana/apple) or some veggies (carrots/celery) with me so I always have access to something healthy to munch on if I get hungry.
The worst thing I can do is get caught really hungry and not have something healthy that is handy to eat. It takes a little pre-planning but your body and mind will thank you.
You can set yourself up to lose weight with smoothies.

Here are my favorites that I use every day.
At night when you really like to snack – give yourself something yummy like a sweet piece of fruit or if you like something crunchy – eat some carrots or celery or sip on a healthy yummy smoothie. It is better to eat something healthy than to allow yourself to get ravenous and then lose control.
At first when you change your diet you may feel like you are missing some old snacks you are used to eating – but believe me when I say you will get a psychological boost when you take care of your physical health.
My husband still will snack on chips, ice cream and other high fat stuff and I often sit by him on the couch sipping my healthy smoothies, or eating my apple or my banana and I feel proud of myself for taking care of me and doing the best thing for my heart and overall health.
It takes discipline but it is worth it.
And really I don’t feel like I am missing out – trust me….after a while – you will crave tasty fruits and veggie and chips or other junk food will seem tasteless in comparison.
Just so you know I am not perfect in my eating all the time. I do spurge once in a while and it is fun. But the majority of the time I am on a good health track and it feels so good!
